The Mathematical Studies of Fluid Motion, Magnetic and Galvanic Forces, and Vortex Motions from 1845 to 1858
摘要
This chapter highlights the angular velocities of the fluid motion derived by Stokes in 1845 and describes the rotational or angular velocities of vortex motions derived by Helmholtz in 1858. In a way, inspiration from Lagrange, Stokes and Helmholtz further stimulated mathematical and physical studies of vortex motion.
