Rocca di San Paolino in Ripafratta (a hamlet owned by the Municipality of San Giuliano Terme, in the province of Pisa) is considered to be an undeniable cultural heritage site as well as a unique symbol of collective memory, cultural identity and national unity. In 2019, the commitment of the Pro Loco Ripafratta Salviamo La Rocca association shown towards the site’s conservation and enhancement, led to the constitution of a promoting committee, composed of the said association, the University of Pisa and the Municipality of San Giuliano Terme. The aim of the committee—valorisation of the fortress as well as its becoming public asset—was achieved in 2021 through funds provided by the Tuscany Regional Government and the local Municipality. The case study deserves a recount of some of the best practices adopted to promote the enhancement of Rocca di San Paolino, as well as territorial and local valorisation of the site.

摘要
