Introduction
摘要
This introductory chapter presents the book as an interdisciplinary synthesis of literature on youth justice, children’s rights studies, childhood studies, critical psychology and critical education, amongst other disciplines, all of them read through the author’s decade-long experience as an educator in a Juvenile Justice Centre (JJC) in the Basque Country, Spain. After briefly providing some context about his JJC, the author presents the reader with some key methodological aspects of the book, including the permanent dialogue of reflective practice and scholarly analysis, the autoethnographic approach, a very personal embrace of what he understands as the ontological inevitability of “doubt”, and the adoption of what he deems an inevitable political approach to research and practice.
