Linda J. Haller’s chapter is a doctor’s reflection about grief, love, hope, faith, and gratitude. Haller interweaves a case study of recurrent pregnancy loss and then a successful birth, with an account of how her spiritual training in Buddhism and meditation helped her deal with these kinds of situations more than her medical training in ObGyn. Helping this family through tragedy, seeing their faith and hope, and receiving their gratitude has been an exceptional experience in her forty-three-year medical career. I would like to offer my gratitude to Aimee Valeras (PhD, LICSW), of the New Hampshire - Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency in Concord, NH, USA, who was my cheerleader during the writing of this chapter. She also offered some edits and guidance. Thank you, Aimee.
