In the era of global challenges and chaotic climatic impact on the environment, it is imperative to address the challenges for a safer environment. Entrepreneurs are the key drivers of bringing an impact on the larger system. Sustainable entrepreneurs identify opportunities that address social, economic, and environmental objectives. Emerging countries like India, which has around 65% of the population living in rural areas, have the potential to produce sustainable products and services that not only contribute to the environment but also create opportunities to transform the lives of many. It is the ideal moment to explore emerging countries like India, which hosts homegrown solutions to the global menace. Existing frameworks treat causal (goal-driven) and effectual (means-driven) decision logics in isolation, leaving a theoretical gap in understanding how founders blend these approaches to recognize sustainability-oriented opportunities. This paper focuses explicitly on the deployment of both causal and effectual logics in pursuit of opportunity recognition by the Indian sustainable venture, Sunbird Straws.

摘要
