Entrapment Methods in Human Trafficking
摘要
Human trafficking is an international crime that involves several individuals performing certain activities and functions with little to no connection with one another. The traffickers entice victims with a variety of entrapment techniques, and recruiters are frequently skilled in identifying the weaknesses of the victims. The several entrapment techniques employed by traffickers and their collaborators in the trafficking of people and children are examined in this chapter. Based on the available literature, I categorised the trafficking methods for sex, labour, and other types into abduction and coercion, being drugged (physical violence, verbal threats, forging, or destroying documents, pornography, giving substances, forced pregnancies), love/romance tactics, debt bondage, peer influence, forced by family, co-offending, and social media, and each category will be explained in detail. These methods were used in trafficking for sexual exploitation, labour, and in other forms of trafficking successfully. Understanding entrapment methods can help tailor prevention and intervention strategies.
