BANVASHI: A Prototype of a Low-Cost Flood Responsive Sustainable Hut
摘要
This study presents the design and construction of the BANVASHI Flood Responsive Hut, a sustainable architectural solution developed to enhance resilience in flood-prone areas. The BANVASHI, inspired by traditional rural huts, features a unique mechanism that allows it to respond to rising floodwaters by elevating vertically without any horizontal displacement. As floodwaters recede, the hut gradually returns to its original position. Comprising both static and dynamic sections, this design supports vertical movement while maintaining structural stability. Constructed with materials suitable for industrial production, the BANVASHI offers a scalable approach to building resilient, affordable housing clusters for economically vulnerable communities, addressing anticipated sea-level rise with sustainable and adaptable design principles.
