Europe's Representation During the First Months of the Ukrainian Conflict: A Media Narrative of Le Figaro's LIVE Coverage
摘要
Since the dissolution of the USSR in 1991 and the proclamation of Ukraine's independence, relations between Russia and Ukraine have been fragile due to Russian goals, leading to Russian war against Ukraine. The aim of this chapter is to analyse the media structure of the online version of the French newspaper Le Figaro, and more specifically the structuring of “LIVE” coverage. This research focuses on the analysis of the structure of the LIVE tweets, the headlines, and the iconography. This raises the question of whether the media dispositif reinforces certain representations in coverage or renders others invisible, and whether it contributes to the construction of Europe.
