Tactical Urbanism and Everyday Aesthetics: Making Art Together to Improve the Quality of Living
摘要
This paper explores the connection between tactical urbanism and Everyday Aesthetics, a philosophical framework that highlights the often-overlooked aesthetic potential of daily practices, objects, and interactions. Tactical urbanism, characterized by temporary, community-driven urban interventions, is interpreted as a form of artification—a collaborative process of “making art” that transforms everyday spaces into meaningful and cared-for environments. Drawing on the theories of Michel de Certeau and Henri Lefebvre, the essay expands the theoretical discourse on Everyday Aesthetics. It also examines how tactical urbanism empowers local communities to reimagine and reshape urban spaces, fostering a sense of belonging and collective care. Through this analysis, the paper positions tactical urbanism as a practical example of Everyday Aesthetics, demonstrating how its collaborative and participatory nature enables ordinary people to actively improve their environments. In this way, it transforms public spaces into vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable places that reflect shared values and aspirations.
