Landslide Disasters
摘要
The Central Himalaya experiences frequent landslide hazards, resulting in significant loss of life and damage to property each year. This study examines the spatial distribution of landslide-prone zones in the Central Himalayan region. Remote sensing imagery and detailed field surveys were used to identify and map existing landslide occurrences. Various geomorphological, geological, and land-use factors influencing slope instability were analyzed. The integration of satellite data with ground observations enhanced the accuracy of landslide zonation. Based on past and present landslide patterns, potential future hazard zones were assessed. The findings highlight areas of high vulnerability requiring immediate attention. This study provides valuable insights for disaster mitigation, land-use planning, and sustainable development in the Central Himalaya.
