Leakage Failure Analysis on Water Wall Pipes of a Power Plant Boiler
摘要
In order to investigate the leakage failure reasons of water-cooled wall tubes in a certain power plant boiler, this study conducted an analysis using macroscopic morphology observation, hardness measurement, and metallographic examination. The results indicate that the residual oxide and dirt after acid cleaning, especially in uneven areas such as welds and threads, are the main causes of corrosion and leakage. These areas are prone to the formation of corrosive products under high temperature and load, hindering heat transfer, leading to local temperature increases and high-temperature creep, causing intergranular damage to the tube wall metal and the formation of cracks, ultimately facilitating the occurrence of leakage. This study provides significant evidence for the prevention and maintenance of water wall tubes.
