Development and Application of One-Key Start-Stop Technology of Long-Drop Liquid Pipelines
摘要
The one-key start-stop technology refers to the process where an operator issues a single instruction for starting or stopping the flow, and then the built-in program within the central SCADA system automatically activates a sequence of logical modules across various stations along the pipeline based on the target operational conditions selected by the operator. This ultimately accomplishes the objective of automating the entire pipeline's starting or stopping with just one click. The engineering technology applied in this project has transformed the Western Finished Oil Pipeline—a long-distance pipeline with significant elevation changes that sequentially transports multiple types of oil products—into a pilot project. The project involves three key systems: the central control system, the water hammer PLC at the Urumqi first station, and the station control systems at each site, all of which are critical for implementing automated process control. Moreover, 21 functional modules have been developed to cover every operational step from pre-startup checks to formal initiation, supporting all 32 different starting conditions along the line as well as all stopping scenarios. Compared to cumbersome and intricate manual operations, the one-key start-stop pipeline technology significantly reduces manual intervention by over 90%, lowers the risk of human error, and enhances pipeline operational efficiency through the flexible invocation of functional modules to achieve one-key start-stop across the entire line. This study provides an effective strategy for the standardization of liquid pipeline operation management, demonstrating the potential of automation technologies in promoting the safe and efficient operation of energy pipelines.
