From Flying Solo to Soaring Together: Developing Systemic Practices in Paediatric Healthcare
摘要
This chapter traces our journey of developing systemic practice within the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle, moving from individual systemic practice to collaborative team working and ultimately establishing a family clinic. By sharing reflections on this progression, we offer guidance and encouragement to others who may be at the beginning of a similar path. Our focus is on those who are curious about systemic approaches, newly encountering them in acute health settings, or tentatively building confidence in family-focused work. Rather than offering a prescriptive model, we foreground practices, ideas and questions that have been useful in our own development, with an emphasis on flexibility and responsiveness to context. We include Phoebe and her family’s story to help illustrate how systemic ways of thinking and working can unfold in practice. In sharing the journey and Phoebe’s experience, we hope readers will be able to imagine, adapt and grow systemic practice in ways that are both personally meaningful and professionally sustainable.
