This segment examines the importance of hidden, unexplored narratives in the discourse of African migration. It proposes that, though largely ignored, there is a sense in which these details shape the context of the facts and figures often in focus, and eventually contribute to the determination of policies and their execution. It posits that ignoring the details implies the incomplete assessment of a phenomenon, which diminishes the quality of the argument and counterargument made from the dominant narratives. The hidden, unexplored details are not only drivers of the better-analysed information but also the starting points of that information, in addition to being the enablers that are significant in the evolution of fuller perspectives in the discussion and understanding of the African migration experience.
