Aquatic avifauna or water birds, are crucial for the health of aquatic ecosystems and for sustainable development. They have specific ecological, economic and cultural roles. Aquatic avifauna are the birds that depend on water bodies for their survival. Aquatic birds, a large number of bird species inhabit and use various aquatic environments such as freshwater habitats, for example, ponds, lakes, rivers, marshes, and wetlands. The other one is coastal and marine areas like saltmarshes, mangroves, seagrass beds, estuaries, oceans, and shallow seas. This includes bird species that have adaptations for living in or near water, including specialized beaks, webbed feet, and exceptional diving or foraging abilities. Many species of aquatic avifauna are migratory, traveling along global flyways. They are a vital focus for conservation efforts as their populations serve as an indicator of big ecological changes, such as shifts in climate and increased pollution. However, human activities have led to habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change, all of these changes pose a risk to Aquatic biodiversity. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a powerful tool to address these challenges and support conservation efforts globally. AI helps in the conservation of aquatic birds by making monitoring and analysis more efficient and accurate. It provides large amounts of data from various sources, which help conservationists to understand and to make strategies for protecting bird populations and their habitats more effectively than traditional methods alone. This paper presents a detailed knowledge about the significance of Artificial intelligence in Aquatic biodiversity conservation that leads us towards achieving the goal of ecological sustainability in future.
