Real-Time DEM-Based Terrain and Step Farming Suitability Analysis via Geospatial Processing in VR
摘要
This research presents a novel method that combines geospatial analysis and virtual reality (VR) visualization to evaluate the suitability of mountainous terrains for step farming using Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data. The developed system automatically identifies potential farming zones through slope analysis, transforming raw terrain data into realistic terraced landscapes using discrete elevation quantization. Users can visually explore these results in VR, allowing them to determine the total suitable area for farming and its distribution and to assess farming potential interactively. Initial feedback from users indicates significant Usability and informative value, confirming the practicality and effectiveness of this approach.
