Racism is not merely an attitude but a discursive system reinforced through everyday interactions, institutional practices, and digital media. Challenging this system requires more than passive exposure to diversity; foreign language (FL) learners need stance literacy; the critical ability to examine their own positioning and identify the linguistic strategies that perpetuate exclusionary ideologies. This chapter presents DeStance, a mobile learning application developed within the European RACISMMAFF project. Based on the Stance De-Centring Model (Domínguez Romero and Bobkina, Thinking Skills and Creativity, 2024), the DeStance app raises awareness of the crucial persuasive role of epistemic, emotional, and effective linguistic stance strategies in discourse. Through a blend of micro-MOOCs, reflective writing, interactive tasks, and AI-powered feedback, DeStance guides FL learners in recognising bias, de-centring perspectives, and articulating intercultural commitments. This chapter details the DeStance app’s pedagogical design, technical framework, and user experience, ultimately framing critical stance literacy as essential for navigating the complexities of citizenship amid discursive racism.

摘要
