Gamification as a Strategy to Promote Family Farming: A Framework-Based Approach
摘要
This study explores how gamification can be integrated into family farming to enhance sustainability, engagement, and behavioural change. Grounded in the 6D Framework, the research proposes a structured approach to define objectives, target behaviours, player profiles, activity loops, fun elements, and supporting tools. Gamification has gained attention as a strategy to address persistent challenges in family farming, including limited resources, low engagement, and difficulties in adopting sustainable practices. By increasing motivation, participation, and commitment, gamification can strengthen local food systems and promote more sustainable agricultural practices. A comprehensive literature review and an analysis of agricultural initiatives were conducted, with the Agrovila Project serving as a case study for practical application. The proposed model includes a narrative designed to contextualize the user experience, linking sustainable behaviours to community values and fostering user identification with local realities. Interactive elements such as rewards, progress tracking, and feedback loops were incorporated to encourage continued engagement from both producers and consumers. Findings indicate that well-designed gamification strategies, combined with digital technologies like mobile applications and online platforms, can amplify user involvement, support knowledge sharing, and facilitate real-time feedback. These results position gamification as a catalyst for sustainable behaviour in family farming and highlight opportunities for future research, including prototyping and field testing to assess long-term impacts.
