The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into job hiring and selection is growing exponentially. While it sparked heated debates on its impact, little is known on job applicants’ experience. This study investigates job applicants’ experience of using a particular AI system typically used by large companies in the process of selecting job applicants. The research findings reveal that the use of AI system shapes applicants’ behaviors. However, however job applicants actively responds to re-shape their own experience. The study contributes to extant literature on the use of AI and provide guidance for practitioners to enhance job applicants’ experience and the effectiveness of AI system in their selection process.
