In order to manage the Programmed Conservation Plans of historic buildings, the tool known as Digital Twin is an opportunity to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes involved, both in monitoring and in the execution of conservation actions. In this context, the schools of Architecture and Urbanism, Computing Engineering, Industrial Design and Construction Engineering of the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC) together with the Conservation Department of the Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica (TNCR, or Costa Rica National Theater), formed a research team which proposed the project: “Digital Twin as a management tool for the programmed conservation plan. Case study: Foyer and Smokers of the TNCR” (2022–2024). The objective of the present communication is to describe the scope of the tool that is in the design process. This description involves: conceptualization of the digital twins, maturity level of the tool for heritage objects, definition of the configuration entities (architectural and decorative elements, digital instruments, monitoring variables, materials and their tolerance ranges, injuries, and conservation actions), services offered, the structure of the proposed tool in three modules for its first version and future remains. All the above is conceived as the baseline that will be the starting point for the future development of a beta version of the Digital Twin.

摘要
