Restoration and Seismic Retrofitting of the SBB Rotonde in Brig VS
摘要
A forced-based pushover analysis of the SBB Rotonde (“Roundhouse”) in Brig was conducted. The Rotonde was built was built according to the System Hennebique in 1904 and is a statically complex structure with asymmetry in the floor plan and curved shaped structure elements. It is a construction with a previous conversion and extension. With the seismic analysis of the structure (importance class II) today’s code standards could not be fulfilled, i.e. a compliance factor α < 1.0 was evaluated. The following solutions were chosen as seismic retrofitting: With these small amount of intervention into the structure the horizontal resistance was enough increased to evaluate a compliance factor of α = 1.0. The project was awarded with the seismic award 2024 from the Swiss Foundation for Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering.
