Empowering Mental Health Support in Panama: A Web Application
摘要
In recent years, mental health has gained increasing attention due to its importance for both individual and social development. However, in the Republic of Panama, significant challenges persist due to the lack of policies and resources to address this issue, as well as ongoing stigma and difficulties in accessing adequate public services. To address these challenges, this study focuses on developing a web application designed to monitor and manage mental health in Panama. This application, called Mental Panamá, provides users with information on mental disorders and illnesses, allows them to track their emotional state, and connect with a mental health professional. In addition, it enables professionals to maintain an organized record of their patients and progress, while administrators can manage system information and collect national mental health data. Through testing, the usability and user acceptance of the application was assessed. The positive reception demonstrated the potential of such tools in Panama. This project has a significant impact on mental health care in the country by promoting awareness and collecting valuable data for future decisions and legislation. It aims to improve the quality of life of the Panamanian population by providing effective tools for mental health care and the necessary support to address emotional and psychological challenges.
