Cities are facing significant challenges to achieve a healthier, more inclusive and sustainable city model, as proposed in the 15-min city. Sustainable urban mobility is a key aspect to address sustainable goals at the local urban scale, promoting a well-connected urban environment based on public and active transport accessible to all, including those socially and economically disadvantaged. The growing public awareness about the negative impacts of car-based urban mobility is substantiated on ecological, public health and monetary issues, urban livability, and land use. This has driven the search for urban mobility alternatives based on the promotion of walking, cycling and public transport everywhere. Existing models of sustainable urban form, such as transit-oriented development, address this challenge. In this context, multimodal transportation systems are fundamental to promoting sustainable mobility by integrating multiple modes of transportation, such as walking, cycling, automobiles, and public transit, to enhance accessibility and mobility from the origin to the final destination. As part of an ongoing research project aimed at developing a methodology for assessing urban sustainability on a neighbourhood scale, a multidimensional approach has been adopted that includes, among other aspects, the issue of mobility. The methodology involves the introduction of specific indicators related to cycle paths, pedestrian spaces and intermodal nodes, which are key elements for the development of efficient neighbourhoods.

摘要
