The international framework on drones aims to standardize and regulate the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, including international instruments, standards, guidelines and other relevant documents, in order to ensure the safe and responsible operation of these vehicles. This chapter examines the current international regulatory framework on drones regulation, focusing on the ICAO Annexes, containing international standards and recommended practices (SARPs), and other Documents (Procedures for Air Navigation Service - PANS, Circulars, etc.). Additionally, the ICAO is actively involved in developing the framework for UAM (Urban Air Mobility), a new safe, secure and more sustainable air transportation system for passengers and goods in urban environments.
