Zero Energy Buildings are essential for advancing sustainable development by minimizing energy consumption and integrating renewable energy systems. This work is motivated by the growing demand for ecological answers to everyday questions along with new technologies, materials and methods that shape the future. Particularly, this chapter highlighted how innovations in building envelope design, energy storage, renewable energy integration, and smart technologies collectively enhance building performance and occupant comfort, and how the circular economy principles further support resource efficiency in built environment. Despite challenges such as cost and maintenance, all these benefits from innovations and evolving design strategies are paving the way for the emergence of positive energy buildings.
