In this book chapter, a British Muslim Psychiatrist draws on both his professional experiences providing care to Muslim patients affected by Islamophobia in the UK and his personal experiences being directly affected by Islamophobia himself. The chapter discusses and describes the various factors that contribute to the inexorable rise of Islamophobia and the adverse effects that it has on the mental health of British Muslims. Lastly, the chapter concludes with ways that we can collectively combat Islamophobia.
