Parametric Architectural Modeling for a Mapped Heritage Exploration of “Ksar El Jem”: Features, Functionalities, and Characteristics
摘要
This research aims to identify the role of parametric architectural design in modeling the heritage of Ksar El Jem, highlighting its unique uses, functionalities, and characteristics. Through an in-depth exploration of parametric architectural modeling, the aim is to illustrate the role it could play in simulating and understanding the architectural and urban aspects of built heritage within a novel digital approach. Then, by focusing on a mapped exploration of Ksar El Jem, the study will demonstrate how digital mapping and parametric modeling methods contribute to a better understanding of the architectural patterning and urban planning of this historic site. Finally, by analyzing the specific uses, civic practices, architectural functionalities, and experiential characteristics of the Ksar El Jem site, the exploration of how parametric architectural modeling can offer new perspectives for preserving and enhancing such a heritage site that responds to social, cultural, and environmental needs will be discussed.
