Leveraging Work–Life Balance’s Power for Happiness at Work: Insights and Implications for Psychological Marketing

The purpose of the chapter is to understand the function of work–life balance (WLB) in workplace happiness by understanding the notion of work–life balance, its contributing factors from both work and family domains, different theoretical perspectives, work–life balance consequences in both work and family domains, and various policies and practices to achieve the goal of work–life balance and then happiness at work in various theoretical perspectives. Employees having a greater perception of work–life balance are happier ones. Furthermore, happy employees exhibit higher production and a far lower absenteeism rate. A wholesome workplace is important. In the end, a positive workplace culture boosts productivity, fosters employee friendships, and enhances personal well-being.
