Using Realism and Constructivism, Algeria’s foreign policy toward the Maghreb, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia can be analyzed as a quest for a regional leadership role and an ambition to remain a relevant regional and international actor. In the context of a post-Hirak era, Algeria's ambitions are to preserve an international niche, on the assumption of its historical legacy and diplomatic maneuvers, taking into account a reformist agenda for the construction of a multipolar and fair international order.
