Port-Oriented Free Zones as Sustainable Supply Chain Hubs: Collaborative Strategies Backed by Business Intelligence in the Barra Do Dande Case Study
摘要
Collaboration among stakeholders is crucial in the maritime industry and essential for global trade, as it moves over 85% of the world's goods by volume. This includes several B2B stakeholders, including government agencies, port authorities, manufacturers, intermodal and transport companies, and local communities. Port-oriented free zones (POFZs) are increasingly positioned as hubs for sustainable supply chains, combining logistics efficiency, environmental care, industrial clustering, and international trade flows. This paper studies how collaborative strategies, supported by Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Science (DS), can help to transform POFZs into sustainable supply chain platforms in the strategic connection to the Port of Luanda. Entities involved in the process can effectively connect production with consumption centres and support sustainable economic growth by aligning operational goals, sharing data, and optimising resources. Using the case study of the Barra do Dande Free Zone, this paper highlights how data-driven collaboration strengthens transparency, sustainability, and competitiveness in B2B markets in Angola. This issue is strategically important since it helps to overcome fragmented communication, regulatory disparities, and infrastructure bottlenecks. The findings relate to trust, efficiency, and reputation, emphasising the strategic importance of integrated collaboration in port-oriented free zones.
