Exploring the Implications of a Whole-of-Society Approach on Pro-Environmental Behavior Among Mobile Communities During the COVID-19 Pandemic
摘要
During the COVID-19 pandemic, freight transportation activities have persisted to ensure the delivery of goods. The present study aimed to explore the central tendency of Moroccan truck drivers’ perception, preparedness, response, and their pro-environmental behavior about avoiding coronavirus infections. In this sense, we contacted 40 Moroccan truck drivers from 22 to 31 March 2020 to respond to a 27-item questionnaire, 5 items of which were conceived for the sociodemographic part. We adopted a descriptive statistic using SPSS version 23 to calculate the frequency and the average. Then, we defined the central tendency based on the mean of the different variables by using the data from the respondents. The results show important guidance about developing awareness to undertake a preventive measure, considering the importance of knowledge. Despite the whole-of-society framework for pandemic preparedness, expert-driven policies are essential to anchor responses in empirical knowledge. Nevertheless, informal dynamics frequently prevail in practice, underscoring systemic challenges.
