Ecological Engagement in Morocco: Balancing Sustainable Development with Dynamic Citizen Behavior
摘要
As a northern African country, Morocco has joined the international policy perspective by mobilizing its resources to adopt different sustainable development strategies. Through the green engagement adopted in different decentralized politics, starting from the urban area by designing an ecological plan and building, arriving at the societal development by spreading the necessity of ecological behavior among Moroccan citizens’ attitudes. Hence, this ecological policy is faced with economic development and the large circulation of the transportation network and road use by different truck drivers. Those elements lead us to focus on the dynamic behaviors related to Moroccan citizens. Moreover, we are concerned about the ecological driving adopted by the drivers of those vehicles, due to their increasing number and the unfriendly consequences that could affect the whole environment. Hence, it is important to check if those environmental political values are socially perceived or are limited to a momently acceptance due to this dynamic tendency happening over the country. Also, analyze whether those values are related to norms that citizens can respect in advance and regularly by developing a sustainable policy transmissible to the coming generation. This chapter also emphasizes the multidisciplinary openness in the study of green driving behavior, as well as the symbolic effectiveness that experienced drivers can bring to road driving through discourse. From a perspective, the study of human behavior requires a multidisciplinary intervention to understand it, which is achievable through different visions, despite the complexity of the behavior. In a final stage, this study shows an important orientation on developing awareness to undertake a preventive measure, considering the importance of knowledge.
