摘要
The chapter draws on the job demands-resources theory and conservation of resources theory to explore how high-performance work system (HPWS) functioning as job resource, and shaped by work enthusiasm, enhance hotel employee’s creativity and quality of life. Responding to SDG8 (Decent work and Economic Growth), the chapter revealed a direct and indirect impact of HPWS on employee quality of life and creativity through work enthusiasm from a survey response of 421 Chinese hotel employees. Theoretically, the explanation of HPWS’s role on employee quality of life and creativity fill the research gaps, and extends the COR theory in the HRM literature. Practically, the chapter emphasizes the need for hotel businesses to design and integrate human-centric HPWS practices that foster and maintain employee quality of life, work enthusiasm, and creativity.
