This chapter presents a detailed analysis of 50 underground shelters selected from the 253 structures listed in Sect.  3.6 . The decision of which shelters to include on the list was not straightforward. On one hand, there were shelters that were clearly important but had not been studied and did not even have a plan. On the other hand, there were structures that had been studied extensively and even been the subject of articles but had no architectural or structural significance. In the face of such a contradiction, we were forced to make a mixed choice that included both groups. Therefore, unfortunately, the plans of some of the subterranean shelters described in this chapter are in sketch quality and do not have high-quality photographs. Although the majority of these 50 selected shelters are in Nevşehir and Kayseri provinces, we also tried to give examples from some other provinces that include ancient Cappadocia.
