Training and Sustainability: An Integrated Approach for Cultural and Professional Transition in Public Administration
摘要
Our paper explores the development of sustainability curricula, focusing on professional training as a critical tool for promoting sustainable development within the organization’s operational activities. The Piedmont Region case study illustrates how an integrated and multidimensional approach can support the cultural and organizational change necessary to address contemporary challenges. The Regional Strategy for Sustainable Development of Piedmont, approved in 2022, aims to decouple economic growth from its environmental impact, promoting ecological integrity and social equity. However, achieving these objectives requires significantly enhancing technical and cross-disciplinary skills among public personnel and training highly specialized new hires. Our paper delves into the pivotal role of the Regional Training School, a pioneering initiative from Piedmont, in equipping individuals with the tools to navigate the intricacies of phenomena and the operational context and foster sustainability. Through thematic meetings, masterclasses, and digital tools, the school is designed to hone practical skills such as systemic thinking, planning, and programming in changing contexts, and managing technological and human resources. This project-based and flexible approach strengthens technical skills and motivates public employees to become key players in the transition process.
