In this chapter, it is shown that the measured DOP, DOLP and DOCP in the speckle field generated by a bulk scattering medium such as tissues when probing with coherent light depend on the size of the detection region. It is illustrated that this is important for the description of polarization phenomena in biomedical optics, where laser radiation is used and a speckle field is generated. It is shown that the measured parameters DOP, DOLP and DOCP can statistically differ even for regions of the same size, and when observing the speckle field in the reflection mode from tissue, the contributions of both the rough surface and the multiply scattered light in the volume should be taken into account.

摘要
