This chapter reviews the principles of light scattering matrix (LSM) measurement and describes the corresponding measuring instruments. The features and distinctive properties of experimental LSM of thin tissue sections or cell monolayers, as well as thick, highly scattering tissues and tissue-like phantoms are analyzed. It is shown that LSM measurements are widely used for diagnostic purposes, including in vivo studies.

摘要

This chapter reviews the principles of light scattering matrix (LSM) measurement and describes the corresponding measuring instruments. The features and distinctive properties of experimental LSM of thin tissue sections or cell monolayers, as well as thick, highly scattering tissues and tissue-like phantoms are analyzed. It is shown that LSM measurements are widely used for diagnostic purposes, including in vivo studies.
