Buildings are considered as a key lever in reducing the reliance on non-renewable energy sources and greenhouse gasses emission. Renewable technologies are enablers for net-zero energy buildings and reduce their reliance on electrical grids. This chapter examines a range of these technologies including those already widely available as well as those in their early development. The results indicate that, although continued technological advancement is desirable, the current state of renewable technologies is significant to substantially reduce greenhouse gases emissions and increase societal resilience.
