The most recent initiatives from the European Commission on climate change provide an encouraging context for the reuse of structural metal components, which could prove to be an effective strategy for reducing emissions in the construction sector. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the current European state of the art regarding the reuse of structural metal components. In preparing this work, developments in several non-European contexts were also evaluated, the legal responsibilities associated with reuse were explored, CE marking requirements were analysed, and a preliminary draft was proposed for the Italian process of structural steel reuse.

摘要

The most recent initiatives from the European Commission on climate change provide an encouraging context for the reuse of structural metal components, which could prove to be an effective strategy for reducing emissions in the construction sector. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the current European state of the art regarding the reuse of structural metal components. In preparing this work, developments in several non-European contexts were also evaluated, the legal responsibilities associated with reuse were explored, CE marking requirements were analysed, and a preliminary draft was proposed for the Italian process of structural steel reuse.
