The Influence of Physical Factors on Image Quality in Non-Contact Measurement Applications
摘要
With the advancement of technology, non-contact measurement techniques have become increasingly popular and serve as significant enablers in modern production processes. In image processing applications for non-contact measurement systems, most discussions tend to focus solely on object profile recognition algorithms and image enhancement methods, often overlooking the influence of physical factors that directly affect the formation of the original image. Although cameras and lenses are essential components of any vision system, the impact of other physical elements—such as lighting conditions, background setup, and the features of the measurement object—on the quality of profile acquisition is frequently underestimated or neglected. This study presents an overview and evaluation of how these elements affect image processing performance through experiments. Based on the findings, the paper proposes practical recommendations for image pre-processing to obtain higher-quality images that more effectively support subsequent data processing tasks.
