Conclusion
摘要
The demand for religion is not constant but varies within a society. As some critics suggest, “religious and spiritual beliefs are complex multidimensional social phenomena that incorporate both subjective individual quests to find purpose and meaning in life and those associated with a specific religion” (Aggarwal et al., 2023: 7). Given that “individuals use religion to cope with the strain induced by a pervasive and recurrent threat of violence” (Carreras & Verghese, 2018: 2), alternative religious beliefs hold a special and significant place in the contemporary climate of insecurity in Mexico.
