From “Problem-Solving Artifact” to “Thinking Killer”: How Does Over-Reliance on AI Software Tools Destroy Students’ Memory, Creativity and Judgment?

The research critically reviews and discusses about the negative perspectives and ethical concerns of Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots (ChatGPT and DeepSeek), in which the research findings and discussion highlight the ethical concerns of ChatGPT and DeepSeek in the education industry (biases, deteriorated cognitive ability and critical thinking skills of students, inaccuracy of AI’s generated answers), as reflection to the university institutions and governmental sectors/policy makers at global today, to urge for care and attention as well as rectification actions respectively, in terms of applications of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
