Simulation of the Impact of Increased U.S. Tariffs on Slovak Automotive Exports
摘要
This study examines the potential impact of proposed 25% U.S. import tariffs, as suggested by Donald Trump during his 2024 presidential campaign, on Slovakia’s export-driven economy. Given Slovakia’s strong reliance on the automotive industry, even moderate trade barriers could significantly affect export volumes, GDP, and employment. Using official statistics and Power BI visual analytics, we analyze correlations between export flows, price trends, and EUR/USD exchange rates to assess the scale of possible consequences. The paper also outlines potential mitigation strategies for policymakers and exporters.
