Satisfaction of Work-Related Basic Needs and Workplace Social Courage: The Mediating Role of Organizational Justice Among IT Employees

In modern workplaces, an agile environment fosters employee social courage, encouraging a smooth workflow. This study shows the effect of satisfaction of work-related basic needs and social courage and the mediating role of organizational justice among IT workers. Drawing from an immense review of literature, the research focus on the notion of workplace social courage which serves a key role in open communication and employee satisfaction remained underexplored across cultures. Data was obtained from a sample of 206 IT employees with a minimum of one year experience across diverse organizations. The results indicate that there is a significant positive correlation among satisfaction of work-related basic needs, organizational justice and social courage. Additionally, organizational justice shows partial mediation between satisfaction of work-related basic needs and social courage. The findings imply the importance of social courage at the workplace in the employees’ satisfaction and foster them for better productivity. Future research might expand the view of social courage in various workplace sectors with the level of hierarchy of the employees in diverse settings.
