Managing Job Stress to Improve Creativity: Moderated by Employee Wellbeing
摘要
Employee creativity is a key element in improving the competitiveness of the banking industry, which faces high pressure due to competition and technological developments. Creativity is often affected by work stress, the impact of which can be positive or negative depending on the employee's condition. This study aims to analyze the effect of job stress on banking employees’ creativity and explore the role of employee well-being as a moderator variable. Quantitative methods were used in this study, by collecting data through questionnaires distributed to 160 employees from the banking sector. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach with the help of SmartPLS software. The results showed that job stress has a significant influence on employee creativity. However, employee well-being proved to play a significant role as a moderator that weakens the negative impact of work stress on creativity. The results prove that banking employees with high levels of well-being are better able to manage stress so that they can still generate creative ideas despite facing high work pressure.
