Higher Education in Morocco in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges

In light of the rapid technological advancements in the field of artificial intelligence, it has become essential to examine the impact of this technology on various sectors, particularly the higher education sector. Within the Moroccan context, the question arises as to how higher education can leverage artificial intelligence to enhance the quality of teaching and scientific research, as well as to develop teaching methods and improve management processes. This study goes beyond merely observing the effects of artificial intelligence on scientific research and higher education; it offers an in-depth analysis of the key opportunities that AI presents for achieving greater efficiency in scientific research. It also highlights some of the major challenges that hinder the realization of these goals—especially considering that digitization in Morocco has become a critical driver of social and economic development, and a fundamental tool for economic efficiency and competitiveness. In this regard, Morocco has launched the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy.
