AI-Based Security and Algorithmic Decision Support (ADS) Mediate the Relationship Between Machine Learning and ERP’s Decision-Making Process
摘要
In an increasingly competitive market environment, the survival of business firms mostly depends on integrating all parts of the organization during the life cycle of products and services. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have been widely used in recent decades to fulfill this perseverance. In recent times, while companies face fast-changing markets, complicated operations, and excessive data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has mostly been incorporated into ERP systems to automate simple daily tasks and functions. This study aims to examine how machine learning (ML) affects ERP decision-making quality and the mediation roles of algorithmic decision support (ADS) and AI-based security in improving relationships. This study used a quantitative methodology in which data were collected from a nonprobability convenience sample of the survey distributed to executives in Sudanese service companies from IT professionals working with ERP systems (banks, insurance services, and financial companies). A total of 102 responses were received, and data analysis was conducted using the Smart-PLS (4) program The results of this study confirm the mediating role of AI security innovations in the relationship between decision-making in machine learning systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP). Theoretically, this study contributes to the literature on employing AI in ERP systems by showing ML as a bridge between decision support and security and presenting a comprehensive framework for intelligent enterprise systems.
