Through the additional modal damping ratio replacement index, it is clarified that the dampers should preferentially focus on replacing the mid-span braces, and the vertical acceleration and peak cable stress damping rates can reach 49.11% and 16.89%, respectively. The study shows that with the increase of replacement rate and seismic intensity, the damping effect is enhanced; however, the sliding friction and equivalent stiffness are too large will weaken the damping performance.
