We analyse the short story “Snow White”, part of the book Power to the Princess (2019) by Vita Murrow, from the perspective of fairy tale revisionism and feminist theory. We begin with a comparison between the traditional “Snow White” tale and Murrow’s version to highlight the aesthetic pressure placed on women, particularly in relation to the pursuit of beauty and the fear of aging. Finally, since the book is intended for a young audience, we observe that by encouraging female solidarity and subverting beauty standards, Murrow constructs an alternative imaginary for girls, one that challenges the narrative imposed by patriarchy.

摘要
