Pericardial Pathologies Requiring Emergency Surgery
摘要
The focus of this chapter is emergency surgery for pericardial conditions ranging from the rarer urgent/emergency pericardiectomy for very severe constriction, infection, and autoimmune conditions, to the more common pericardial windows for different types of effusions with tamponade physiology. The chapter is succinct, mainly addressing the surgical aspects and techniques for managing these conditions, but also aiming to evaluate outcomes and controversies in literature.
